Prep priority
Put your preparation into the interview: Brampton itself recommends the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) with work-related examples, and it lists community involvement as a requirement, so have concrete volunteering examples ready.

What we do not cover
We have not established which written exam Brampton Fire and Emergency Services uses, so we cannot tell you that our questions match it. Check the department's current job posting, then come back and pick the matching exam family.
No written exam on this posting
The posting we checked does not name a written exam, so there is nothing to practise for it on this platform and no mock exam to take. What decides this competition is holding the required credentials listed below, then the interview, fitness and medical steps.

OFAI is an organisation, not a test. Wholly owned by the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs, it runs the Candidate Testing Services programme used by Ontario fire services. OFAI does not make municipal hiring decisions.
Gear: Stage Two is performed in full firefighting PPE plus SCBA weighing approximately 23 kg (51 lb). The SCBA is carried but not breathed from; a VO2 mask is worn.
Stage One — Aptitude, hearing and vision
Aptitude testing alongside hearing and vision screening. These are hard gates: candidates are eliminated here, before any physical testing.
Unconfirmed: The exact aptitude sections, question counts and time limits are not stated here — confirm the current format at ofai.ca.
Stage Two — Encapsulated Treadmill Test
A progressive, incremental treadmill protocol to exhaustion, performed in full PPE plus SCBA (approximately 23 kg / 51 lb). Not a shuttle run.
Unconfirmed: The specific speeds, inclines, phase durations and endpoint criteria are not published here — confirm at ofai.ca.
Stage Three — FPAT, FFTS and Swim Test
Firefighter Physical Aptitude Job-Related Tests (FPAT) plus Firefighter Technical Skills (FFTS), with a Swim Test where the fire service requires it.
Unconfirmed: The FPAT sub-events, their sequence and any time standards are not listed here because we cannot state them on the authority of ofai.ca. Confirm the current Stage Three format directly at ofai.ca.

No. Brampton uses OFAI testing: the FPAT physical (an expired certificate is accepted) and the vision assessment, uploaded when you apply. A CPAT certificate does not replace them.
Being test-ready and fitness-ready before a posting opens matters more than intense preparation after it opens.
No. Every question is original training content written to reflect common recruitment task types. No legitimate provider has access to live exam material.
