Typical components
Medical evaluation commonly covers cardiovascular health, respiratory function and respirator fit, vision including colour discrimination, hearing thresholds, and musculoskeletal history.
Standards differ between services and are set against occupational requirements. Confirm the current standard with the service before assuming a condition is disqualifying.
What to handle early
Get a baseline check well before you apply. Uncorrected vision, untreated blood pressure and unresolved joint injuries are the issues most often discovered too late to fix within a hiring cycle.
